The four medieval city gates of Feldkirch

Of the four original city gates in Feldkirch, only two remain today: the Mühletor and the Churer Tor, whilst the Bregenzer Tor and the Bludenzer Tor were demolished in the 19th century.

Grand opening on 11 July 2024

With sixty invited guests, including Mayor Manfred Rädler, Deputy Mayor Andrea Kerbleder, Councillor Nathalie Koch, Councillor Berchtold and Councillor Thomas Spalt, the grand opening of the new permanent exhibition “Entrance to Feldkirch – the four city gates” took place at the Churer Tor on Thursday, 11 July. Among those celebrating were Lukas Debortoli from Stadtmarketing und Tourismus Feldkirch GmbH and Ms Maria Simma, Head of the City’s Art and Culture Department, as well as those who contributed to the success of the exhibition and the exhibits: The Head of the City Archives, Mag. Christoph Volaucnik, Prof. Manfred A. Getzner and Dr Thomas Wanger from the Feldkirch Local History and Museum Association. Finally, the companies involved in the renovation of the new gallery space in the Churer Tor were also invited.
